Fine Line & Wrinkle Appearance Consultation

A Considered Approach to Facial Lines and Expression

The development of fine lines and deeper facial folds is a natural part of the ageing process. Subtle changes in skin quality can begin as early as the mid-twenties, with fine lines gradually becoming more noticeable over time. As the skin’s collagen and elasticity reduce, and with repeated facial expressions, these lines may become more defined over time.

At Karui Aesthetics, each case is assessed individually following a thorough consultation. Treatment options are discussed where clinically appropriate for the individual.

Understanding Wrinkles and Folds

Facial lines and folds may develop due to a combination of:

  • Natural reduction in collagen and skin elasticity
  • Repetitive muscle movement from facial expressions
  • Changes in skin structure and support over time

Each individual experiences the ageing process differently, and all treatment approaches are assessed individually at consultation.

Areas Commonly Addressed

A consultation may include assessment of facial lines and folds in areas such as:

  • Forehead (frontalis)
  • Between the brows (glabellar and corrugator region)
  • Outer eye area (crow’s feet)
  • Lower face and mouth corners (marionette lines)
  • Chin (mentalis region)
  • Cheeks (accordion lines)
  • Around the lips (perioral lines)

A personalised consultation is required to determine whether treatment is appropriate for each area and for the individual.

An Individualised Approach

Assessment is guided by a detailed evaluation of facial anatomy, muscle activity, and skin condition. Each case is considered in the context of the whole face rather than as an isolated concern.

Treatment options, where appropriate, are discussed at consultation along with what each procedure involves, what it does not address, associated risks, and individual variation in outcomes.

What to Expect

All procedures are performed in a clinical setting by an AHPRA-registered medical practitioner. As with any medical procedure, individual responses and duration of any effect may vary.

Your practitioner will discuss suitability, potential treatment options, and associated risks during your consultation before any decision is made. There is no obligation to proceed.

All areas are subject to a prior consultation at which clinical suitability is assessed individually. Not all areas will be appropriate for all patients. All cosmetic procedures carry risks which will be discussed in full.
