PDO Facial Thread Lift Consultation

PDO Facial Thread Lift

A minimally invasive procedure for changes in facial contour associated with the natural ageing process.

A PDO thread lift is a minimally invasive procedure in which dissolvable sutures are placed in the subdermal layer of the skin, used to address changes in facial contour associated with the natural ageing process. At Karui Aesthetics, each case is assessed individually at consultation to determine whether this procedure is clinically appropriate for the individual.

About PDO Threads

PDO (polydioxanone) threads are medical-grade absorbable sutures used in the subdermal layer of the skin. As the threads are gradually absorbed over time, they may assist in supporting collagen production within the tissue.

All thread lift procedures at Karui Aesthetics are performed by an AHPRA-registered medical practitioner following a comprehensive individual assessment.

A Considered Approach

A thread lift procedure is planned individually for each patient. Every face ages differently, and at Karui Aesthetics each assessment begins with a detailed evaluation of facial structure, tissue condition, and individual ageing patterns before any procedure is discussed.

Procedure planning considers:

  • Thread placement and type, selected according to individual anatomy
  • The relationship between treatment areas and surrounding facial features
  • Whether this procedure is the most clinically appropriate option for the individual

In some cases a different treatment may be more appropriate. In some cases no treatment may be indicated. All decisions are made in consultation with the patient. There is no obligation to proceed.

Treatment areas assessed at consultation.

Thread lift procedures at Karui Aesthetics may be used to address changes in facial contour in the following areas, where clinically appropriate following individual assessment.

  • Midface & Cheeks Thread procedures used to address changes in the midface and cheek area associated with the natural ageing process. Assessment considers the relationship between the midface and surrounding facial features.
  • Jawline & Lower Face Thread procedures used to address changes in the contour of the jawline and lower face. Assessment considers the relationship between the jaw, chin, and neck.
  • Brow Area Thread procedures used to address changes in the brow and upper face area. Assessment considers the relationship between the brow and surrounding facial features.
  • Neck Thread procedures used to address changes in the contour of the neck area. This area requires careful individual clinical assessment and is only undertaken where appropriate following consultation.
  • Combination Treatment In some cases, thread lift treatment may be considered alongside other procedures as part of a whole-face approach. All combination planning is assessed comprehensively at consultation.

All areas are subject to a prior consultation at which clinical suitability is assessed individually. Not all areas will be appropriate for all patients.

What to Expect

All procedures are performed in a clinical setting with careful attention to detail and patient comfort. As with any medical procedure, some downtime may occur, including temporary swelling, bruising, or tenderness.

Your practitioner will discuss suitability, potential treatment options, associated risks, and aftercare in detail during your consultation before any decision is made. There is no obligation to proceed.

Begin with a Consultation

Every treatment at Karui Aesthetics begins with a considered, one-on-one consultation — where your facial structure, concerns, and individual circumstances are carefully assessed before any treatment options are discussed.

All treatments are subject to a prior consultation at which clinical suitability is assessed individually. All cosmetic procedures carry risks which will be discussed in full.
